In reference to the video I have found that it is possible to do the same thing with situations, not just people. Just like it is possible that a person could drift away, it is also possible that any situation could do the same—Therefore despair, relinquish hope, above all, do not hope in any situation or for any situation.
An individual and a situation can also be used interchangeably here. The only difference in the two is that instead of the inscrutable nature of the individual, we have the inscrutable nature of God to contend with. In this I mirror David : 2 Sam 12: 22 He answered, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The Lord may be gracious to me and let the child live.’
